2016 Annual Pembroke Fire Department Open House

The annual Pembroke Fire Department Open House was a huge success.  The event usually coincides with the kick off of Fire Prevention Week which is recognized every year during the week of October on which October 9th occurs to commemorate the great Chicago fire.  This year's event added some attractions such as the childrens' obstacle course and facepainting.  All the morning was a bit foggy during the set up of the event, the sun came out and evaporated the fog.  Although the event occurs around the fire prevention week observation, the main purpose of the event is to allow the citizens of Pembroke to visit their fire department and learn about what we do.  The fire department is grateful for all the visitors who came by the station on Saturday and we look forward to the next one!  Preparations for next year's event will start soon and we hope to have an even larger turnout.  Please check out our slideshow of this year's event.
