An important component of the health and future growth of a town is an adequate and diverse supply of housing. Pembroke is fortunate in being able to supply a wide variety of quality housing. From large early twentieth century homes, to apartments and condominiums, starter homes, and large lot rural homes, Pembroke has it all.
In 1990 approximately 65.6% of Pembroke's housing were detached single-family dwellings, 29.6% were multi-family dwellings and 4.8% were mobile homes.
According to the 1990 census, Pembroke had 2,536 occupied and vacant dwelling units. This figure represents an increase of 748 units, up 29% from the 1980 figure of 1,788 units. Another important change is in the median value of a house. In 1980 the median value of a home in Pembroke was $46,600, by 1990 this had increased to $120,000.
