The Planning and Land Use Department is actively involved in all matters relating to land use, development, and preservation. The Department is located on the second floor of the Pembroke Town Hall, 311 Pembroke Street.
The services and programs that the Planning and Land Use Department oversees include planning, economic development, building inspection, zoning and fire code inspection and enforcement, property assessing, conservation and public health. The Department, in conjunction with the Planning Board and other Town departments and boards, develops the Master Plan for the community. The Master Plan is the Towns plan and vision for the future development and growth of the Town. The Department administers the Planning Boards subdivision and site plan regulations and review process and it works with Pembroke residents and the business and development community seeking approval for various development plans that are presented to the Planning Board.
