COMPLAINTS AGAINST POLICE PERSONNEL

WELCOME TO THE PEMBROKE POLICE DEPARTMENT

These pages will be an ongoing project, which we hope will continue to grow and become a major part of this Department's continued effort to serve the community. Our Department has been engaged in a constant exercise of change. We have evolved from a one full-time officer police department, to a dynamic multi-functional agency, with twelve full-time officers, supported by three non-sworn personnel. We have accomplished and maintained an excellent relationship with our community and have maintained a readiness and willingness to help. We are a full service police agency that believes in community policing as a philosophy and as a way of life.

Community policing is a partnership between the Residents of Pembroke, and its police department. It is our goal to enhance the services to our community through programs, education and technology. We are a progressive department with the main objective of making the Town of Pembroke a place where people would like to locate and bring up their families. Our aim is to provide the most professional, courteous and technologically advanced policing possible.

In April of 2004 after nearly four years in planning and construction, the new Pembroke Safety Center was completed. Members of the Pembroke Police Department began moving into their new home at the Pembroke Safety Center located at 247 Pembroke Street. The new facility, which is located at the existing Pembroke Fire Department, will now house both police and fire departments at one location. Added features of the new police headquarters such as a better training/meeting room, evidence processing room, prisoner processing/detention area, and sally port are part of the new facility. The new facility will offer increases in safety for the public and police, enhanced parking and better conditions for the police department employees. The building is a state of the art police facility, which will provide the police with 8,807 sq. ft. of new building space, 3,109 sq. ft. new fire space, 5,692 sq. ft. common shared space, 1,952 sq. ft. future storage space, 7,594 sq. ft. existing fire space for a total square footage of 27,154 sq. ft. This is a building in which both police/fire employees and town residents can feel proud.

We hope that this website will present the information that you are looking for, and more importantly, help you understand the commitment that we have made in bringing you, our customers the best police services possible. The Pembroke Police Department welcomes your comments. We invite you to contact us with ideas and thoughts as to how we may improve upon this new service.
