Recycling

On May 1, 2010 the Town of Pembroke launched its new mandatory Single Stream Recycling Program complete with fully automated curbside collection.  Residents must purchase 2 carts approved by the Town and imprinted with the Town Seal- one for recycling and one for trash in order to receive curbside collection.  The program is Zero Sort® Single Stream Recycling; which means all your recycling goes in one bin together. The recyclables are trucked to a sorting facility to be sorted and processed.

Click here to watch a video that shows how the items are sorted at Casella's state-of-the-art facility. Click here to watch another educational video from Casella which shows how a plastic bottle painted bright orange goes from the curb all the way through processing at the MRF (Materials Recycling Facility).
