
The Pembroke Water Department is a independent water provider serving the towns of Pembroke, Allenstown, and a few homes in Hooksett. The municipal water system has a capacity of over one million gallons per day and has been rated A1 by the State of New Hampshire. The current water rate is 1.20 per thousand gallons, one of the lowest rates in the state.
The system consists of three well sites. The first well site is located near the Soucook River on Route 3 at the Concord/Pembroke town line. This site contains two wells, one pumping 620 gpm and the other pumping 525 gpm. The second site consists of two wells located along the Suncook River in Bear Brook State Park. The third site is located on route 106 on the Concord town line.
Both well sites pump at the rate of 300 gpm and are utilized to maintain pressure within the system. There are two storage tanks both situated at an elevation of about 515 feet: one is located on Brickett Hill Road in Pembroke and holds 1,000,000 gallons; the other located on Parker Bailey Drive on the Allenstown/Hooksett town line holds 940,000 gallons.
