The Town of Pembroke was incorporated in 1759. In its early development a series of Range Roads were laid out that crisscross the town to this day. Through the years the perimeters of the town’s geographic borders, Route 3 and Route 106, have experienced development. The interior has remained wooded and ideal for outdoor recreation enthusiast. 

Since 2004 the Police Department has participated in the New Hampshire Fish and Game Departments OHRV Wheeled Vehicle Enforcement Grant Program. Funding for this program is received through OHRV registration fees. Each year the department applies for in hopes to receive grant money for the patrol function of these roads. Pembroke Police Patrol approximately 40 miles of Class Six Range Roads  including rights of way for Gas Lines and unrecognized ATV trails in town. 

The Department uses two Yamaha Kodiak ATVs for its patrols. On these roads and trails the police encounter,. its normal OHRV Violations as well as Trespassing, Illegal drugs use or manufacturing, Impaired OHRV operators, Illegal kindling of fire's as well as users of the trails that have outstanding warrants for unrelated crimes. Most importantly the Police appreciate and look forward to interacting with the recreational riders to include all families and friends enjoying the trail system.
