Fire is Everyone's Fight

The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for reviewing plans for and conducting inspections of existing occupancies and fire protection systems.  The division works closely with the town's code enforcement officer and also provides public fire safety education to the citizens of the community.  Members work closely with the schools and day care centers in the town to make sure that fire safety education is included in curriculums at all levels.  Public Fire Safety Education is also provided to specialty groups and social organizations.  The department has a juvenile officer who specializes in juvenile firesetting. The division is also responsible for the investigation of all fires.
